Mark Whalen

Vice President, Technical Operations

Mark graduated from the College of North Atlantic in 1999 with a diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation. He embarked on his career that same year as a Control System Specialist. In 2008, Mark joined Ozark Services, later evolving into Pennecon Technical Services, where he initiated the Controls & Automation Division. Under his leadership, the division expanded from 2 to over 30 members, including the acquisition of The Panel Shop in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

In March 2020, Mark assumed the acting role of Operations Manager, officially accepting the position in 2021. His dedication led to his promotion to General Manager in 2022, and he currently serves as the VP of Technical Services for PSMM.

As VP of Technical Operations, Mark provides Overall operations oversight, ensuring operational performance aligns with Key Performance Indicators.  Mark manages existing relationships and develops preferential supplier relationships for new product lines.

Mark brings proven experience in service-based business environments, demonstrating a track record in identifying business trends and formulating effective strategies. His strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills characterize Mark’s professional attributes. As a self-starter, Mark demonstrates the ability to manage diverse organizations and drive growth. In his role, he is dedicated to ensuring PSMM and its subsidiaries achieve mandates, adhere to policies, and maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace. Mark is instrumental in driving ongoing transformation towards performance expectations, including ‘zero harm,’ effective risk management, and financial stewardship.
