Don Strickland, P.Eng

Vice President, Heavy Civil, Western Region

Don brings over 30 years of experience from coast to coast in Canada’s construction industry. Don specializes in hydroelectric developments, design-build projects, oil sands/industrial developments, mining, and concrete projects. Don joined the Pennecon team in 2016 to head up the newly established Western operations. Previously, Don served as Project Director for H.J. O’Connell, Project Manager for Peter Kiewit and Sons, Construction Manager for North American Construction, Chief Estimator for Ledcor, and Manager/Chief Estimator for McNamara Construction Company. Don has managed numerous projects across the country including the Wuskwatim Hydroelectric Development in Manitoba and the Kearl Oil Sands Development in Alberta. Don holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland (1987), a management certificate from the Aston Business School in England, and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.
