Don Strickland, P.Eng

Vice President, Heavy Civil, Western Region

Don brings over 30 years of experience from the Canadian construction industry and specializes in hydroelectric developments, design-build projects, oil sands/industrial developments, mining, and infrastructure projects. Don joined the Pennecon team in 2016 to head up the newly established western operations. Previously, Don served as Project Director for H.J. O’Connell, Project Manager for Peter Kiewit and Sons, Construction Manager for North American Construction, Chief Estimator for Ledcor, and Project Manager/Chief Estimator for McNamara Construction Company. Don has sponsored and managed numerous projects across the country including the Slave Falls Spillway Conversion in Manitoba, Wuskwatim Hydroelectric Development in Manitoba, the Kearl Oil Sands Development in Alberta and the High Falls Hydroelectric Development in Ontario. Don holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Memorial University of Newfoundland (1987), a management certificate from the Aston Business School in England, and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.
