On #NationalTruthAndReconciliationDay, we honour our commitment to reconciliation and ensure that the tragic history and ongoing legacy of residential schools is never forgotten.
Over the past few days, our employees have been educating ourselves on the history of residential schools, and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission calls to action, especially Call to Action #92 – Corporate Canada and their leadership:
“To adopt the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a reconciliation framework and to apply its principles and standards to corporate policy and core operational activities involving Indigenous peoples
and their lands and resources.”
We will continue to reflect, listen and educate ourselves, and also prepare specific action plans, on how to achieve truth and reconciliation.
