Pennecon Energy Construction / Fabrication

Pennecon Energy Industrial Services (PEIS) is Pennecon’s electrical and instrumentation division working in the oil and gas, industrial, construction and fabrication markets across Canada. Headquartered in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, PEIS has facilitated all of Pennecon Energy’s major projects in Canada and offers our clients a broad range of electrical and instrumentation experience.

We maintain close relationships with the trade unions and work with our clients to fabricate and install explosion-proof process modules, construct gas generating plants, and install all aspects of overland aggregate conveyor systems. We also have expertise in power generation, distribution, transmission, controls and automation industrial sector, and our team is complemented by the mechanical division of our sister company M&M Engineering.

M&M Engineering Limited is an industrial mechanical contracting company with a diverse range of expertise and over 40 years’ experience in brownfield construction and maintenance services for established industrial facilities and plants, as well as large-scale multi-trade green field construction.

We’ve worked in virtually every industry in Newfoundland and Labrador, from pulp and paper to offshore oil and gas, and pride ourselves in building great relationships with our clients. M&M Engineering specializes in piping fabrication and installation; process equipment installation; installation and repair of large storage tanks; module fabrication and installation; heavy industrial rigging; structural steel and miscellaneous metals; multi discipline general contracting; multi trade labour and supervision; industrial maintenance and commissioning.

M&M Offshore Limited is our custom steel fabrication facility that complements our construction interests, and specializes in carbon steel and alloy pipe fabrication; structural steel fabrication; custom plate fabrication consisting of tanks, pressure vessels, penstocks, bins, hoppers, stacks; specialized welding services; process modules; subsea structures; blasting and specialized high performance coating application.

M&M Engineering and M&M Offshore operate out of our 15 acre site in a prime industrial park in the east end of St. John’s. The facility includes 7,000 sq ft of modern office space, a 45,000 sq ft fully equipped fabrication shop; 17,000 sq ft of temperature and humidity controlled blast and paint shops.

Pennecon Energy Technical Services Ltd. (PETS) leverages its strategic location, competitive infrastructure and capable workforce to give every client exceptional service. An ISO 9001:2008 registered company with over 50 years of experience, we provide electrical and mechanical services to the marine, oil and gas, and heavy industrial sectors in Atlantic Canada.

Building on our strong position in the Newfoundland and Labrador marketplace, PETS has expanded its influence to the Atlantic Canada market and beyond. With its reputation growing in the offshore, marine and industrial industries, today our clients include all of the East Coast exploration, production, mining, refining and industrial based clients.

Our expertise in the offshore oil and gas sector translates into efficiency and reliability for our clients. We partner with multi-national companies to offer turbine and gas compression lifecycle maintenance to offshore drill rigs, production platforms and FPSOs. PETS also provides mechanical, cranes services, automation and controls, power systems, motor rewinding and pump maintenance services to all industry sectors including mining, power generation and distribution, marine, refining, and oil and gas exploration and production.

Pennecon Energy Hydraulic Systems Ltd. (PEHS) is Eastern Canada’s leading hydraulic company for quality and reliability, and our clients’ satisfaction is our ongoing commitment, whether we’re providing a product, in-house expertise or turn-key installation.

Headquartered in Paradise, Newfoundland and Labrador, with a branch in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, PEHS services the oil & gas, marine, military, agriculture, construction, forestry, fishery, as well as pulp and paper markets throughout Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Our markets continue to expand into Quebec, Ontario, Western Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Norway, South America and Korea.

PEHS is experienced in handling turn-key projects incorporating centralized hydraulic power systems, hydrostatic drives, deck machinery, pneumatic and mechanical systems, filtration systems, integrated control systems and complete pipework services.

Our PEHS facilities house the latest in hydraulic technology, from systems design and development, to project management, testing and inspection, customized training and fluid power systems modernization, and provide our clients with full service facilities for any offshore activity.

Pennecon Energy Marine Base Ltd. (PEMB) manages and operates an ISPS certified, marine base facility just outside St. John's, Newfoundland and offer our clients a cost effective alternative for shore-based marine activities for both the general cargo and offshore petroleum service industries.

Our 14 acre facility has a rock-fill waterfront, located at an ice-free, deep-water port. Clients can access us directly by sea, as well as an uncongested, modern highway to St. John's, and surrounding industrial parks, so PEMB an ideal location for any type of shore-based marine activity, from mobilization and discharging cargo, to repairs and upgrades of ocean going vessels and offshore drill rigs. PEMB is the closest deep-water port to the Grand Banks oil fields including Hibernia, Terra Nova, White Rose and Hebron.

The facility offers competitive labour stevedoring rates, accommodating transfer and storage facilities, three marine berths ranging from 26 feet to 36 feet in depth, up to 300 tonne mooring bollards, as well as an extensive equipment rental inventory for the marine and heavy industry sector, ranging from anchors and shackles, to mooring chain and Yokohama fenders.
